Having no external genitalia means they don’t have to wear pants. Most of their clothes, when they wear them at all, are just simple chest pieces and maybe a bit of a skirt or something. They’re vaguely photosynthetic in that they can convert the heat energy they absorb through their dark feathers and use for “magic"/blacksmithing into their own muscles to help them move (but it’s more dangerous than just eating for energy so they only use it in emergency situations).

The only members of their species that wear lots of body covering clothing are those that cannot safely dispel the heat they absorb through magic or blacksmithing (a rare mutation, usually lethal).
